Historic Information for Bandera
Pipe Creek
City: Pipe Creek
Location: In the city of Pipe Creek.
Start: Stoplight in Pipe Creek at the intersection of FM-1283 and Hwy 16.
At the intersection turned south on FM-1283 and travel 1.0 miles. The entrance to the cemetery is on the left. After opening the gate proceed down the road a short distance and the cemetery is at the bottom of the hill. The road makes a loop through the middle of the cemetery. Several unusual graves in the cemetery have concrete poured over the grave where mussel shells had been attached. On the concrete had been inscribed the familial relationship: Grandpa, Grandma, son, etc. The cemetery is still in use.

Polly's Cemetery
City: Bandera
Location: North-east of Bandera.
Start: Intersection of Hwy 16 and Hwy 173
From the intersection of Hwy 16 and Hwy 173 go east on Hwy 16 for 5.0 miles to Privilege Creek Road which is on the left (north). Turn on Privilege Creek Road go north 2.2 miles where Old School Road intersects Privilege Creek Road on the left (west). Turn on Old School Road and go .3 miles crossing Privilege Creek on a low-water bridge and then up a hill. At the top of the hill turn left and follow the dirt road a short distance to the cemetery. A gate with Polly's Cemetery is at the entrance of the cemetery. It's a small cemetery and still in use. The grave of Jose Policarpo Rodriguez is in the cemetery -- he was one of the more famous early settlers of Bandera County.

St. Stanislaus
City: BANDERA
Location: In the city of Bandera.
Start: Intersection of highway 16 And Hwy 173 (Main Street).
From the intersection of Hwy 16 and Hwy 173 go south 4 blocks on Cypress Street to 8th Street. Turn right on 8th Street and go one block to Cedar Street. Turn left on to Cedar Street and go 1/2 block. Cemetery is located on the left in the middle of the block. The cemetery is adjacent to St. Stanislaus Church. This cemetery is associated with St. Stanislaus Church, which is the second oldest Polish congregation in the United States. The cemetery is still in use.
